Home Results Club Member Results SAORC Round One Mt Compass Sprint

It was a great turn out for the Ariel MCC at the Mt Compass Round with 7 Ariel entrants having a crack and a good turn out of spectators from the club to give support. This was a sprint event with 3 laps each of 2 separate loops to test the riders with a good variety of terrain and challenges. At the last minute the organisers added an extra lap around loop 2 to proceedings which I'm sure a few could have done without. Loop 1 was quite a tight track weaving in and out of a mostly dry creek bed/small gully with loop 2 being far more fast and open with a couple of big jumps for the brave and a few nasty little bog holes that were even nastier by the last loop.

It was an awesome effort from all the boys handling the conditions admirably. A solid mid pack finish by Darren C and Luke C were the best of our bunch which was an especially  great result for young Luke being it was his first SAORC ride. Mad Mike was feeling a little out of practice but wasn't too far behind in the standings and not too far behind him was Hayden, Liam and another SAORC first timer Justin all within 4 places of each other. Last of our blokes but certainly not least was Tim in the Vets class who was also feeling out of practice and was claimed by the dreaded bog hole on the extra last lap.

Well done to all for a top effort!

Apparently the Ariel club stood out a bit? Here are some of the many competitors and spectators.
